In this series, we sit down with our portfolio and program founders to get to know them better. What are they building? What motivates them? What do they love about New York City? This week, we're chatting with Pharmesol CEO Natalie Park, a founder in our spring 2023 Grand Central Tech cohort.

1. Describe what you’re building in 10 words or fewer.

Pharmesol is an automated and proactive medication assistant.

2. Let’s assume your company achieves your current, fullest ambitions for it — what about your industry and the world do you hope changes as a result?

Every patient receives the support they need to feel confident in taking their medications. Providing high quality personalized care is easy for healthcare organizations.

3. What’s your bagel order?

Everything bagel with lox

4. What do you love about New York City, and what makes it a good place to launch a business?

Its diversity. I’ve struck conversations with people on the metro to do primary market research interviews. I was able to reach people from diverse backgrounds, which is so valuable in understanding what people need. And it’s actually a pretty efficient and effective way to do it.

5. What’s your favorite ‘secret’ about New York?

Free concerts in the summer. It’s actually unbelievable how many amazing artists NYC brings for these public and free concerts. I’ve seen some of my favorite artists (like Esperanza Spalding, Jorge Drexler, and Jose James) at these events.

6. What do you think is the single biggest innovation we'll see within our lifetimes?

I think it would be related to genetic engineering.

7. What motto do you live by?

There’s no absolute good or bad in life. What’s seemingly good can turn into something bad and vice versa.

8. What’s one app on your homescreen that you can’t live without?

Google Maps. I’m pretty bad with directions.
